Social Media Assistant (Intern)

Are you passionate about photography, digital storytelling, and building online communities?

OM Digital Solutions (OM SYSTEM) is seeking a motivated and creative Social Media Assistant to support our Marketing team until March 30, 2027 (20 hours per week) in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. This role is a hybrid position.

In this role, you will assist with the planning and execution of content across our regional social media accounts.



What you’ll do:

Primary Responsibilities (50%)

  • Maintain a content calendar based on direction from line managers
  • Publish Instagram stories to maintain strong audience engagement
  • Write compelling captions using relevant camera terminology and clear calls-to-action (CTAs)
  • Generate and edit digital content using Canva and CapCut to support multi-channel marketing initiatives
  • Curate user-generated content and customer photography
  • Research trending audio, content formats, and photography-related hashtags

 

Community Engagement (25%)

  • Respond to direct messages
  • Engage with camera enthusiast accounts
  • Actively participate in photography and camera communities
  • Monitor brand mentions and interact with tagged content
  • Respond to story replies and initiate engaging conversations

 

Strategy & Analytics (25%)

  • Track daily Instagram Insights metrics
  • Analyze top-performing reels and posts
  • Monitor competitor accounts and industry trends; research emerging camera gear and photography developments, and report findings monthly to the line manager
  • Prepare detailed monthly performance reports

 

What you’ll need:

  • Currently enrolled as a student pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • Availability to work 20 hours per week until March 30, 2027
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus
  • Strong understanding of advertising, public relations, marketing communications, social media, trade marketing, creative production, and media analysis
  • Knowledge of consumer products, consumer electronics, or photography is preferred
  • Proficient user of MS Office, Canva, CapCut, and other standard office software
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management

Strong Plus:

  • Personal photography portfolio
  • Experience growing Instagram accounts
  • Familiarity with camera brands and models
  • Adobe Lightroom and/or Photoshop skills
  • Video editing skills
  • Solid understanding of camera specifications and terminology
