(Senior) Finance Specialist - Accounting & Analytics

The EMEA Finance Team manage the Finance and Accounting activities for all European locations of the company. Processes are executed end-to-end by professionals with hands-on mentality, who are eager to take the ownership.

As part of this team, the (Senior) Finance Specialist - Accounting & Analytics who will work together with the colleagues from the finance and accounting team to ensure accuracy and compliancy of the executed accounting operations, including the month-end closing procedures. 

Job description

The responsibilities of that role will include the execution of the tasks listed below for the OMDS entities and branches in the EMEA region.
Analytics:
• Collecting, organizing, and analyzing financial data from various sources (mostly SAP)
• Supporting the budget creation process and management of the company’s budget with different departments
• Developing financial forecasts
• Monitoring budget variances, providing explanations for discrepancies
Accounting:
• General ledger accounting
• Payroll related accounting
• Month-end closing activities
• Managing financial reporting including preparation of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow
• Accounts reconciliation and pro-active communication to clarify discrepancies
Others:
• Co-working within the finance team members and with the internal/external stakeholders to ensure that the accounting activities run smoothly
• Supporting the Finance Operation Manager in daily duties and on ad-hoc basis
• Occasionally, driving improvement initiatives and projects.

Requirements

• University Degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
• Fluency in English
• Relevant Finance and Accounting experience (5+ years) in international organization
• Experience with SAP FI (R/3)
• Advanced MS Office/Excel skills relevant for this job
• Data-analysis skills helping to identify solutions for irregularities and exceptions
• Work discipline to meet high compliancy standards
• Ability to identify process inefficiencies and suggest process improvements,
• This position can be classified as a senior role, depending on the candidate’s experience.
